10 Years Later, “The Martin Garrix Show” Is a Time Machine
It's hard to believe it's been a decade since an 18-year-old Martin Garrix launched The Martin Garrix Show, offering an intimate glimpse into the life and career of a generational DJ.
Today marks 10 years since the premiere of the EDM superstar's online docuseries, which gives fans an inside look at his experiences as one of the world's leading electronic artists. Its episodes often feature behind-the-scenes footage from his studio sessions and candid personal moments from his life, and chronicles his adventures headlining major festivals like Tomorrowland and Ultra.
His label, STMPD RCRDS, has now shared the final episode of the program's fifth season. It moonlights as a retrospective for Garrix, who says he used to look at pictures of Tiësto on his wall and visualize himself performing for the same gigantic crowds as his legendary Dutch compatriot.
"I would build a tent in my old bedroom with disco lights, and play music and close my eyes and pretend I was in front of a huge crowd," he recalls. "My parents have always—since day one—pushed me to follow whatever my passion was."
Celebrating the milestone on social media, STMPD encouraged fans to "stay tuned for more surprises this week." You can check out the new episode below and watch the full fifth season of The Martin Garrix Show here.
