Good Morning Mix: Jai Wolf curates first mix since 2016 on Intermission Broadcast
Typically, fans would be hard-pressed to find a cohesive Jai Wolf listening experience beyond his live performances. Briefly following the one-year commemoration of his freshman LP, The Cure To Loneliness, the Long Island native shifted that narrative to retire a four-year mix absence by playing host to ODESZA’s newly conceived Intermission Broadcast series.
Clocking in at just over 40 minutes, Jai Wolf arranged a preeminent substitute for his album’s coinciding spring tour, which is currently on hold as a result of the global health pandemic. The mix cracks open a pure gold mine of unreleased Jai Wolf projects, which make up eight of the episode’s 21 tracks. Leading off with a never-before-heard original, the isolation gift sleekly exhausts his own takes on Porter Robinson‘s “Something Comforting,” RL Grime and Graves‘ “Arcus,” The Weeknd‘s “Heartless” to releases from Dog Blood, Louis The Child, and Flume.
In a comment on Foreign Family’s YouTube upload, Jai Wolf wrote a sincere message to his fans before they dove into the episode:
“I haven’t been outside for an entire month so there’s a lot of pent up energy in this mix. hope you guys are staying safe in the Q! much love ❤️”
