Honey Dijon teases new music, announces album ‘Black Girl Magic’
Honey Dijon has teased groovy new music and cover art as well as announcing her sophomore album ‘Black Girl Magic’.
Although we haven’t got a set release date the album will land Classic Music Company, a label by electronic music stalwarts Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon. The label was acquired by Defected back in 2010.
The new single “Not About You” featuring Atlanta talent Hadiya George is an infectious and groovy house track with speckles of 80s disco weaved in.
On the track Dijon says it’s;
“… about the communal love and joy we all experience on the dance floor as one. The dance floor is a place to leave all labels, inhibitions, and prejudices behind. A place to create dreams and manifest desires”
The artwork is another layer to the impressive feel of the project with visual artist Jam Sutton sharing a bust of Honey that;
“… explores identity, form, technology and classical portraiture. I spent a day with Honey in my studio during her London show residency; after brainstorming ideas and conversations about life and creativity, I wanted to capture her personality and strength which I found incredibly inspirational.”
It’ll be an on-going series through the album release! ‘Not About You’ drops June 26th.
