Celebrating house and techno in the most colorful of ways, the Zürich Street Parade is finally back, and our excitement levels for this years edition are sky high. Returning for the first time since the pandemic, organisers are more than set on putting on quite the show, with the 29th Street Parade taking place on Saturday, 13 of August, at a start time of 1.00pm and coming to an end at midnight. Taking over the famous Swiss city for an entire day, some of the biggest names in techno music will be performing during the 2.4km route, as 30 brightly coloured Love Mobiles will be fully equipped with all the necessary music gear that will have the streets of Zürich in a total frenzy of pure “love, peace, freedom, generosity and tolerance.”
Established back in 1992, the Zürich Street Parade has become a stellar event over the years, with each edition looking to portray a certain message that derives from the unity that music creates. With a theme of “THINK,” everyone in attendance is invited to an experience of a lifetime, but at the same time, organisers are looking for a celebratory day that can be enjoyed “peacefully, cheerfully, and with the proper sense of responsibility.” Arguably the largest techno parade in the world, the announcement of the full lineup has further enhanced the anticipation levels behind the event’s long-awaited return, with the likes of Ida Engberg, FJAAK, Anna Tur, Ben Bohmer, Adriatique and Chris Liebing just a mere few among the breathtaking lineup of artists, who will all in fact be performing free of charge, as they showcase their love for what they do and the music that helps unite people in more ways than none.
Edging ever closer to this magnificent event, the hype surrounding the Zürich Street Parade could not be any more real, and we are all for it. Marking their return in the most stunning of fashions, the event also includes about 100 mega and smaller scale parties along the road, making it a true celebration of house and techno, as well as love and unity. With this in mind, there could not be a more fitting time to visit Zürich, as this year’s parade is shaping up to become one for the history books.
