Ride the Turbulent Waves of DRINKURWATER’s Free-Flowing Debut Album, “RIPPLE”

DRINKURWATER knows that his untamed music leaves fans gasping for air, in need of reminders to replenish their water supplies. Good thing his debut album RIPPLE is filled to the brim with them—though it will still leave you breathless.

The 10-track album rides the tides of various genres under the bass umbrella, from the raging waves of riddim to the choppy currents of bass house. Those threads are all connected by the producer's signature vocoded vox relaying messages of all things H2O.

"This album brings back memories of the earlier days when I started the DRINKURWATER project, working on music until the early hours of the morning," the producer said. "RIPPLE reflects the sound that I envisioned having in the future. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I believe in it."

RIPPLE kicks off with its titular track, where sensual vocals slink through a flowing trap beat, escalating atop the undercurrent of a suspenseful melody. The dam then breaks all at once, bursting and sending us through a spin cycle of ferocious riddim.

From there, the waters get choppier. Soaked in experimental production, "SENSATION," "MOUTHFUL" and "DAS FROG" stand out through skillful syncopation and distorted vowel bass. Soundtracking our tumble through the tumultuous waters, "TOTHEOCEAN" enters with dark, otherworldly bass in an arrangement where solace is only found in the smooth tenor of its vocals.

Amidst the chaos is "BODIES," which released as a single ahead of the album. The track fluidly alternates between gritty bass house and wobbling dubstep, proving itself both a surefire DJ weapon.

RIPPLE arrives in the midst of an eponymous headlining tour for DRINKURWATER. You can listen to his new album below and find it on streaming platforms here.
