Armand Van Helden adds 'Give Me Your Loving' to disco-house legacy
While the most prevalent news surrounding Armand Van Helden at the moment is surely the return of Duck Sauce, the duo’s pending album hasn’t stalled Van Helden’s own production efforts one bit. The master of all things disco-house just dropped yet another white-hot dance floor weapon entitled “Give Me Your Loving.”
For decades, soulful vocals paired with heavy grooves have been Van Helden’s bread and butter. But in truth, “bread and butter” is not the apt idiom because the bland, forgettable, taste of bread and butter is an insult to his body of work.
Disco-house is to Van Helden as hot chicken is to Nashville, as cheesesteaks are to Philadelphia, as deep-dish pizza is to Chicago. People from all around the world know those cities for their celebrated regional cuisine, and people from all around the world know Van Helden for disco-house.
“Give Me Your Loving” simply burnishes this reputation even further.
