Burna Boy crafts ode to Africa in 'Wonderful' music video
Burna Boy has shared the music video for his new single, “Wonderful,” both of which offer a taste of his forthcoming studio album, Twice As Tall. The visual, directed by Director K., is an ode to Africa, Burna Boy explained, stating,
“It’s important for me to show that music is a uniting force that transcends state lines, barriers and borders. This song is about the ‘wonders’ of seeing the impact of my music on people’s lives as they shared their joy, pain and pleasure with me while I toured the world.”
It serves as a note that no matter how far you go, or how hard you work, you must be ready to come home. The pandemic forced us all to take refuge in our homes. Above all, Africa is home, it is the motherland to all people. For us to truly matter, Africa has to matter.”
The music video’s release follows Burna Boy’s recent receipt of his second consecutive BET Award for Best International Act.

Make no mistake—dance music is born from black culture. Without black creators, innovators, selectors, and communities, the electronic dance music we hold so dear would simply not exist. In short, dance music is deeply indebted to the global black community and we need to be doing more. Black artists and artists of color have played a profound role in shaping the sound and culture of dance music and now more than ever, it is necessary for everyone in the music community to stand up for the people that have given us so much. Dancing Astronaut pledges to make every effort to be a better ally, a stronger resource, and a more accountable member of the global dance music community. Black Lives Matter—get involved here:
