Calvin Harris is back with ‘New To You,’ the last single release off his ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2’ album, which drops Friday, August 5 via Sony.
Calvin Harris’ R&B release with Normani, Tinashe & Offset is the latest sneak peek of what to expect from his upcoming album ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2,’ which fans have been craving since ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1’ first dropped in 2017. The single continues his funky disco vibes found throughout his ‘Funk Wav Bounces’ project, but also incorporates R&B elements with classical orchestral arrangements. Together, they create a warm, groovy tone for this year’s summer soundtrack.
‘New to You’ brings together three artists that the producer has previously collaborated with on various other projects in the past. Tinashe (who collaborated with Calvin Harris on the track ‘Dollar Sign’) and Normani’s (who collaborated with Calvin Harris on the tracks ‘Checklist’ and ‘Slowdown’) emotional vocals are found all throughout the track, trading seductive lyrics that describe a build-up of instant chemistry. Offset, who previously collaborated with Calvin Harris on ‘Slide’ from ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1,’ brings a rap verse into the mix that describes a feeling of revival one finds through the chemistry with a significant other. Together, they take you on a journey full of high-spirited feelings experienced after finding the right person.

The single release comes just a day after Calvin Harris announced the tracklist for his album (which you can see above), which includes previously-released tracks ‘Stay With Me,’ featuring Justin Timberlake, Halsey and Pharrell, ‘New Money’ feat. 21 Savage and ‘Potion’ with Dua Lipa and Young Thug. The 13-track album seeks to build off the momentum of the four singles, bringing new collaborations with artists such as Stefflon Don, Chlöe, Coi Leray, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dog and many more.
