Deadmau5 preps new collaboration with The Neptunes, 'Pomegranate'
It seems every time Pharrell wades into electronic waters, we have a new hit on our hands. Stacking crossover credits alongside Daft Punk, Calvin Harris, Gesaffelstein, and more, Skateboard P has always managed to keep an attentive finger on the pulse of dance music. Now, the Virginia Beach-born super producer is heading back to electronic dance territory with Chad Hugo in tow for a full-on Neptunes production, this time alongside another electronic music monolith—deadmau5.
The newly recalibrated Neptunes and deadmau5 are preparing a new collaboration called “Pomegranate,” which will land deadmau5’s mau5trap imprint, though a release date has yet to be publicly shared. The Neptunes’ comeback campaign already includes new material with JAY-Z, Miley Cyrus, and Lil Uzi Vert, among many others. Similarly, deadmau5 is keeping busy in 2020 as well, revamping his BSOD project with Steve Duda, programming a steady stream of mau5trap releases, and new material on mau5trap radio. Stay tuned for Pomegranate soon though—chances are we’ll have a hybrid hit on our hands before long.
