Diplo enters voluntary self-isolation from children after global travel
As the number of the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) cases continues to rise both nationally and internationally, Diplo is taking the necessary precautions to protect his family from potential exposure to the virus.
I’m staying away from the house until I am cleared of the virus…This is my sacrifice to make sure everyone around me is safe.

In an Instagram post published on March 16, Diplo announced that he had voluntarily entered a period of self-isolation and would continue to practice preemptive solitude until he is “cleared of the virus.” The producer stated that he had been “in contact with hundreds of people in the past four weeks,” through global travel that could have predisposed him to contracting COVID-19.
Diplo will accordingly avoid visitations with his two sons, 9-year-old Lockett and 5-year-old Lazer, who currently reside with his grandmother, “who is the most vulnerable” to disease spread, Diplo wrote.
Although the pandemic constitutes the most time that Diplo has had at home “in years” and the producer would like to pass the time “build[ing] Legos and watch[ing] movies” with his sons, he acknowledged that the “need to be smart” to prevent possible transmission of the virus nevertheless is necessary.
In a call to action to raise awareness about the dangers of community spread, Diplo concluded his post, “think about others in every decision you make in the coming weeks. This isn’t a drill. We already have enough news from Italy, Iran, Korea, and China about the best ways to slow this.”
