DJ Snake is back on Release Radar bringing his Algerian roots to spotlight once again, this time remixing the first hit title of Algerian star Cheb Khaled – ‘Trigue Lycee‘.
Continuing the path of connecting his current musical expression with love and admiration for his Algerian roots, DJ Snake revamped the first ever track of a famous Algerian singer Cheb Khaled, titled ‘Trigue Lycee‘. Just two months after releasing a tribute to tradition in the form of a hit ‘Disco Maghreb’, he saw the opportunity to give his modern take and show admiration to the Raï author of a 1976 hit song. The king of turntables, born in Paris to a French father and an Algerian mother, shared with the world this remix, carrying the meaning ‘Trigue High School’ (on the way to high school, in Algerian Arabic).
This collaboration comes as no surprise after DJ Snake brought the singer to the stage during his June 11th live performance in Paris in Parc des Princes Stadium, where Cheb Khaled performed his hit ‘Aisha’. That same night, Snake was also joined on stage by actor Omar Sy, Stromae and David Guetta. But this wasn’t their first joint performance either. Back in 2017 DJ Snake was one of the headliners of Mawazine – international music festival held annually in Rabat, Morocco. At one point, he brought Khaled to the stage, and later on posted a video on Twitter to share that special moment with his online followers:

Cheb Khaled was only sixteen at the time of releasing this song, which happened to be one of the most memorable titles in his 46-year career. His career shaped North African music to provide harmony with his captivating voice that many appreciate to this day, and it just so happened that one of the little boys who grew up with his music is now a global superstar who wants to open the world to its beauty.
