Electric Blockaloo loads up more than 800 artists for the virtual Minecraft festival to end all virtual events
Not even a full three months into the newly emerged trend of virtual events and Electric Blockaloo has come to take the reins with what may be the single largest lineup in the timeline of both in-person and online festivals. After Rave Family formally announced the event in May beside an initial reveal of 40 stage hosts, the Minecraft-hosted digital affair now has the full poster locked in place, revealing the staggering bill for the June 25 – 28 run.
Primed with remakes of multiple noteworthy venues, including both The Gorge and Red Rocks Amphitheater, Electric Blockaloo will bring in more than 850 artists spread across a total of 65 separate stages. Lining up alongside the previously announced artists like Lane 8, Gryffin, Diplo, ZHU, and Whethan is another influx of notable names like Galantis, KSHMR, MK, Skream, Khruangbin, Steve Aoki, Wolfgang Gartner, BROHUG, Le Youth, Claude VonStroke as well as Louis The Child and even Paris Hilton, with literally hundreds more in between.
To navigate the treacherous DMCA waters that have stirred up as of late, Electric Blockaloo will be partnering with streaming giant Mixcloud to provide necessary compensation back to the owners of all music used. While entry to the Minecraft space begins at $10, all proceeds generated will be donated to numerous charitable organizations including Black Lives Matter, The Bail Project and ByeByePlastic.
