Electric Forest Officially Canceled Due to Coronavirus Concerns
Forest family, it is a sad day for all of us. It was recently announced that this year's sold-out Electric Forest has been canceled. Sadly, its 10th-anniversary celebration will not be taking place until its return in 2021. Due to coronavirus concerns and the recent rejection for new postponement dates from the Rothbury Village Council, there was no other option.
The heart-breaking news was announced on the Electric Forest official website. As it states:
“After weeks of discussions, input and direction from state and local authorities, and with a full focus on the safety of our community, we have made the decision to look ahead and reunite in 2021.”
To those who purchased a ticket for this year's event, two options will be available to you.
- Keep your wristband and lodging package for Electric Forest 2021.
- Request a refund, which will include fees.
Ticketholders who sold their wristbands on the ticket exchange will still receive their payout for their tickets. Those who purchased their passes from the exchange will also be eligible for the options stated above.
Ticket purchasers will be contacted through email within 48 hours to discuss what they choose to do next. You will have thirty days to respond with your decision.
For more information, you can check out the Electric Forest 2020 Cancellation FAQ.
For those who are debating whether to use their tickets for next year or request a refund, Electric Forest has left you with a message that may help you decide.
“Sit back from your screen for a moment, close your eyes, and imagine the energy when gates finally open to celebrate the 10th chapter of Electric Forest. Imagine the moment music begins to fill the air. Imagine positive vibrations at levels we have never felt in our lifetimes. It will be an immense moment of celebration, and preparing for that energy will keep Forest HQ working tirelessly until opening day.”
