Eli Brown Returns With Entrancing Ode to 90’s Acid House, “Be The One”
Brown's first original track of 2023 executes moments of tension and release via pulsing, acid house-inspired sound design.
Marking his first release of 2023, Bristol-based powerhouse Eli Brown has returned with an ode to acid house straight from the 90s.
Out now via Astralwerks, "Be The One" is an entrancing, warehouse-ready earworm. Here, Brown once again brilliantly channels the underground.
Diverging from his usual tech house tendencies, the house virtuoso showcases his production prowess by expertly executing moments of tension and release via pulsing, acid house-inspired sound design.. With elements of romance and playfulness—and tied together by a relentless baseline—“Be The One” builds on Brown’s unique approach to bridging the gap between electronic music's past and present.

Growing up in Bristol, Brown’s production style encapsulates the raw sounds of his homeland. This distinct sound has enabled him to rise through ranks with celebrated releases on Factory 93, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Renier Zonneveld’s Filth On Acid, among others. And in 2020, he launched Arcane as a vessel to support emerging talents who specialize in brooding techno and house music.
This year Brown kicked off his first-ever U.K. tour and sold out each show, according to a press release shared with EDM.com. You can catch him this summer at EDC Las Vegas and Veld, among other major festivals.
