Fred again.. took over the iconic London club, Boiler Room, for a massive set of unreleased IDs and edits this past weekend. While his set was just over an hour long, it has been all EDM Twitter can talk about, with the excitement over the mix as well as some of the featured collaborations which were unveiled during the performance.
While there has never been any doubt concerning the talent of Fred again.., he may have broken all media outlets with his work of the past week. The same day as his show stopping Boiler Room stop, he also dropped his massive collaboration with Swedish House Mafia and Future, ‘Turn On The Lights again..,’ a massive track that featured as a perfect centerpiece for his stop at the Boiler Room. While having a new single with Swedish House Mafia drop on the same day, the group began their first world tour in nearly a decade.
While Skrillex has been relatively quiet, coming out from his studio this year only to announce a few festival cancellations, Fred again.. dropped several ID’s featuring the dubstep producer. Several IDs were played that seemed to feature the combined works of Skrillex and Fred again.., but it was the addition of Four Tet to several IDs that truly broke the internet. The combined talents and work from the three producers reveal artists at the top of their game, hungry to create art at the highest level and continue to push the boundaries of electronic music.
The whole set is a masterwork of production, DJing and pure passion for the craft. Fred again.. and the entire crowd deliver an experience that truly motivates and jumps out at the listener, whether they were there or forced to simply forced to listen from home in envy of those who got to witness.
