Gabriel Drabkin Is In A World Of His Own In The New Video For “TILLIMFREE”
Promising Hip Hop and R&B artist Gabe Drabkin drops another banger following “Tried Calling” and “Bag.” The new single is called “TILLIMFREE” and comes with a music video directed by Steven Cleavland and Kyle Kadow; the director duo of Found Format. Filmed by Spencer Ortega, the talented singer-songwriter gives viewers a peek into his eccentric and unique world, where there are talking trees, floating humans, and sunflower rains.
The Ukrainian-Latvian rapper says this of the new track: “It's a look into my head, battling certain influences and people that hold me back from finding freedom. ‘TILLIMFREE’ has a message of finding the chains that tie you down in life and acknowledging them and freeing yourself from them.” Drabkin does an impeccable job translating his inner thoughts and feelings onto the screen.
Sharing his most intimate self with the public, Drabkin writes in the lyrics: “In these lies I breathe free till the day dead/ I got a few I fall back on/ I'm about as good as they come/ The highest high playing them damn drums/ I see what I've loved and see what I make.” The artist sings: “I ain’t tryna play no more/ I just wanna hold you close/ In the midst of the fall I fall real slow/ For your love that holds/ Girl you taking me higher.”
Highly influenced by icons such as Mick Jenkins, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Isaiah Rashad, The RZA, Prince and others, Gabe Drabkin experiments with different genre elements ranging from R&B and Hip Hop to Soul. Releasing jams like “TILLIMFREE,” “Morning Sun,” ft. Rocklee, “I Appreciate you” with Sir Micheal Rocks, “uaintheard?”, and “Forgiveness,” ft. YGTUT, the young talent paves the way for a long lasting career.
