Good Morning Mix: Relive SAYMYNAME's genreless display at EDC 2019
SAYMYNAME and his inimitable brand of hardtrap serves as one of the most distinguished one-two punches in electronic music, pulling in the temperament from both ends of hardstyle and trap. Odds are that if you’ve attended a festival in recent summers, the Los Angeles-native has most likely appeared on that same lineup and he’s extended that run during the virtual circuit as well.
While SAYMYNAME’s sets still maintain their fair percentage of his roots, his full 75 minutes at EDC Las Vegas‘ circuitGROUNDS in 2019 embodied just how far-reaching they can realistically go. Simply put, there’s no sound kept off the table as SAYMYNAME bounces across the board from his self-titled hardstyle introduction to bigroom with Hardwell to electro house with ZEDD, even including a dose of DJ Snake‘s moombahton for good measure.

Make no mistake—dance music is born from black culture. Without black creators, innovators, selectors, and communities, the electronic dance music we hold so dear would simply not exist. In short, dance music is deeply indebted to the global black community and we need to be doing more. Black artists and artists of color have played a profound role in shaping the sound and culture of dance music and now more than ever, it is necessary for everyone in the music community to stand up for the people that have given us so much. Dancing Astronaut pledges to make every effort to be a better ally, a stronger resource, and a more accountable member of the global dance music community. Black Lives Matter—get involved here:
