GRiZ brings the funk to Night Bass with 'Could U'

It’s a rare moment when two artistic forces operating in different musical spheres come together in perfect harmony, and on Feb. 7, fans were treated to one of those moments. On paper, the collaboration between GRiZ and Night Bass is surprising; the feel-good dance saxophonist releasing a track on such a gritty house label is unexpected to say the least. In practice, the pair sounds perfectly in sync.

“Could U” opens modestly before GRiZ opens the floodgates of funk. One by one, new elements enter the mix for a natural gradual build. As the build reaches its peak, the instrumentation slips away to allow a coarse bassline to take center stage. By its conclusion, “Could U” will have you moving, grooving, and wishing GRiZ would collaborate with Night Bass every week.
