Gryffin Sharpens Creative Instincts On Genre-Spanning Album, “PULSE”

As the DNA of dance music continues to evolve, Gryffin has found his pulse once again with his third album.

PULSE is not only a testament to his journey back to the core of why he fell in love with the genre, but also his most creatively inspired work to date. The album is a palette of sounds and emotions, and in his own words, it marks a return to the essence of dance music that captivated him in the first place.

Moreover, the album is a narrative of Gryffin's personal and artistic evolution. The variety of tones and messages encapsulated within the music reflects a deeply introspective songwriting process, one that touches on vulnerability, resilience and the ever-changing landscape of human emotion.

The album opens with "Magic," a charming and euphoric track that sets the tone for the journey ahead. Previously released as a single, it features bouncy rhythms, playfully pitched-up vocals and a rave-ready cadence that instantly draws us into Gryffin’s renewed sonic identity.

He continues to showcase his knack for emotive collaborations on tracks such as the soul-stirring "Where Are You Tonight," which resonates deeply as ZOHARA's vocals weave through a piano-driven chord progression. Their chemistry, previously demonstrated in "Out Of My Mind" and "Remember," reaches new heights, solidifying it as a standout moment on PULSE.

Exploring new sonic territories, "Falling To Pieces" sees Gryffin delving into breaks and heavier percussive elements. A refreshing departure from his bread and butter, the track evidences his continued willingness to push his own stylistic boundaries. Similarly, "I Don't Wanna Know" (with Elderbrook) ventures into melodic techno with fluttering tremolo vocal melodies and a hypnotic, haunting vocal delivery that captivates the moment.

As PULSE progresses, Gryffin's exploration of different genres continues to unfold. Each track unfurls his journey of coming into his own, both musically and emotionally. The theme of rediscovery and resilience culminates in the album's closer, "Last Of Us," where Rita Ora's powerful vocals remind us of the importance of finding our true rhythm amidst chaos.
