Hardwell and Quintino Break the Ice With Fifth Collaboration, “Sloopkogel”

This duo just notched the fifth chapter in their storied saga with a track that effortlessly fuses two mainstage sounds.

One of dance music's most tenured collaborative duos has returned to etch a new chapter.

Hardwell and Quintino last teamed up on 2019's "Reckless" and it seems as though a lifetime in dance music years has passed since then. Today, they're back with "Sloopkogel," which translates from Dutch to English as the word for "wrecking ball." With that bit of context suddenly everything about this track makes sense.

It's the first time Hardwell and Quintino have attempted to thread the needle between two mainstage sounds that are tearing up today's festival circuit: the challenging big room techno and the incumbent big room house. The two break the ice with thumping techno kicks and an ominous ambience before releasing their signature sequence of rhythmic mainstage leads.

The track is landing on Hardwell's new 2023 EP, a project with six tracks, which he's been teasing out with an equal number of mysterious doors on his website. Fans won't have to wait long for his next offering either, as the countdown clock indicates Hardwell's next release is due in exactly one week.
