Jakeshoredrive Breaks Out With Must-Listen Tech House Banger, “Hectic”
It’s getting kind of hectic for the "Tech House Teacher,” who went viral last year for playing house music in the mornings for his students.
Last year, Jakeshoredrive went viral on TikTok as the "Tech House Teacher" who helped his students get ready for the day ahead by blasting house bangers at school in the mornings. Now he's releasing piping-hot tech house records, the latest of which is a bona fide breakout.
"Hectic" features the iconic vocal sample "I’ve got the power" from Snap!’s 1990 classic. Jakeshoredrive masterfully interpolated it with thumping drums and a party-starting vocal refrain that helped make it an instant sensation on social media.
The track catapulted through TikTok after he debuted it in March 2023 during Miami Music Week. Since then, "Hectic" has been added into the rotation of various major playlists and channels, including "Diplo’s Revolution" on SiriusXM.

"This record is an ode to the 90's era of house music," Jakeshoredrive tells EDM.com. "It's inspired by childhood memories of my dad and I dancing in the living room to Jock Jams 95.
