Jerome Blazé shares electronic masterpiece “Wild Faith”
Sydney up-start Jerome Blazé has shared his latest and possibly greatest offering “Wild Fath” as part of his innovative ‘Open, A Home’ EP out now on electronic imprint Eyegaze.
You’ve probably realised we’re longtime fans of JB having covered his output from all the way back in 2018, and for good reason. His sounds traverse from Brooklyn electronicist Tourist to folktronica maestro Bon Iver with sounds beyond his years and no sign of slowing.
Of the EP our pick is “Wild Faith” – a beautiful track that perfectly balances a run of live instruments with natural recordings and liberal splashes of electronic that culminate in a timeless fashion. Jerome explains the entire release best;
As the idea of the EP grew the relationship between the songs began to develop in an interesting way – the ensembles became incrementally smaller as the track-list moved forwards, from the Sax and string quartet, clarinet, trumpet and trombone on ‘Intro (Us, Fall In)’, to just the solo clarinet on the final song ‘Monday’. At the same time, the meaning of the songs moves in the opposite direction, from grappling with a more inward-facing relationship struggle in ‘Fall’, to looking outwardly and encouraging a broader sense of empathy and trust in ‘Wild Faith’.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for future Jerome Blazé music.
