Lockdown Livestream Guide 012: Black Lives Matter
For episode 12 of Dancing Astronaut‘s Lockdown Livestream Guide, things are going to be a bit different.
While this weekly feature is typically a compilation of livestreams that are slated for the upcoming weekend, this week’s guide will be comprised of past livestreams from black artists only to highlight the impact black culture has on the entire dance and electronic music community.
While compiling the various past livestreams from quarantine, it truly shows dance fans how impactful black culture, artists, and curators have been in being the guiding force behind the entire genre. From Carl Cox to 12th Planet with MK and Idris Elba in between, the black community is present and influential in all subgenres of dance and electronic music, demonstrating the need for all dance fans to stand with the global black community during this critical time. In addition to past live streams, a few additional sets from pre-quarantine have been included from leading black figures in dance/electronic music who have not participated in livestream. It is important to recognize and highlight just some of the efforts of Green Velvet, Black Coffee, Honey Dijon, and Jeff Mills among others in this section despite these sets being a little older.
Check out the below streams and stand with us in supporting the greater Black community during the Black Lives Matter movement.
