Martin Garrix sent a simple picture to his Instagram stories that no doubt will catch the eye of any fan of dance music on the planet. The Animals producer shared an image of a large wood table, three laptops, and noted the location of Amsterdam, Netherlands with just one human in the picture.
All this sounds mundane enough, plenty of producers hole up in their hotel rooms or other spaces on the road, take out their laptops and get to work on new tracks and updated mixes for upcoming sets. Of course, this photo held a bit more weight as a certain Swedish producer, who goes by the name Alesso, was the one featured in the picture, hard at work at what appeared to be a fresh music session. The open laptop next to him, which we will have to assume belongs to Martin Garrix, also showed a session in progress. The two superstars obviously have massive careers on their own, and coming off three full weekends at Tomorrowland, they both are no doubt excited to continue working on fresh sounds and IDs.
While the two stars have yet to work together in their storied careers, the prospect of a collaboration is hugely exciting for the dance community at large. Alesso has continued his stronghold as a mainstage main stay, riding high in 2022 with the success of his single Words with Zara Larsson. The duo have been getting close lately, with Alesso appearing for a guest appearance during Martin Garrix’s Veld Music Festival performance and then sticking around for a full b2b set at the after party. While there is no official word from either camp yet on whether new music is in the works, it seems fans will be justified to keep their fingers crossed to for a collaboration in the near future. In the meantime, check out future from the Veld Music Festival below.
