Moore Kismet’s New Single Is a Glitched-Out Descent Into Despair: Listen

Moore Kismet, electronic music's de facto architect of aching bangers, has released a captivating new track, "BITTER! (for the lack of a better word)."

It's the EDM.com Class of 2021 artist's first single from their upcoming sophomore album, they revealed this week. Both beautiful and unsettling, Kismet's work here is reminiscent of turning over a smooth stone only to find sharp edges beneath.

A song that's as comforting as a slap in the face, "BITTER!" swings like a pendulum between glitchy, textured bass drops and tender lyrical expressions of anguish. Each transition feels like a descent deeper into despair, artfully mirroring the internal conflict of clinging to past joys while confronting present resentment.

Kismet's tortured vocals resonate with a piercing clarity, capturing the gnawing detachment that comes with feeling out of place or misunderstood: "I am bitter / Hate the way I think you all still look at me / Haven't felt this out my skin since 17 / Cling to all the happy moments in my dreams."
