Navigating Coachella 2024: A Complete Guide to Streaming, Lockers, Parking and Everything Else

Coachella, arguably the biggest festival in the world, is officially back to offer some of the best contemporary music the industry has to offer.

Whether you want to catch headliners like Lana Del Rey or Tyler, the Creator or check out the festival's iconic art installations, there's plenty to do and explore in Coachella's metropolis this year. And with new upgrades to the festival's illustrious Sahara Tent as well as the addition of the brand-new, all-electronic Quasar stage, Coachella has made some drastic changes in 2024.

Coachella dates and venue

Coachella will return to the Empire Polo Club for two consecutive weekends, April 12-14 and April 19-21. 

About two and a half hours from Los Angeles, the precise address is: 81-800 Avenue 51, Indio, CA 92201. Considering the massive annual Coachella crowds of roughly 125,000 attendees per day, make sure to check the the festival's official mobile app and maps for road closures and delays.

How to buy Coachella tickets

While Weekend 1 tickets are sold out, Weekend 2 passes are still available via Coachella's official website. The festival's organizers advise against using third-party ticketing platforms.

"Only passes you originally purchased through Coachella's official ticketing partners can be guaranteed as valid," reads the Coachella website. "Do not buy passes from an unauthorized 3rd party or scalper. We will not offer customer service, authentication or support for any passes purchased through any unauthorized 3rd parties.

Coachella 2024 lineup

The 23rd edition of the festival features a wide variety of artists spanning different genres,, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Headlining the fest are Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, No Doubt and Tyler, The Creator. Moreover, Coachella is teeming with tons of EDM talent, ranging from a joint performance by Everything Always (the collaborative alias of house music superstars John Summit and Dom Dolla) to sets by French electronic music icons Justice and Gesaffelstein.

Perhaps the most exciting development for Coachella is its brand-new stage, Quasar. It'll feature extended three-hour DJ sets by some of the world's most influential DJs and producers, like RÜFÜS DU SOL, Eric Prydz b2b Anyma and a cancer-free Michael Bibi.

Quasar, which features "two monolithic LED walls," will take the old spot of Coachella’s Sahara Tent next-door to the Eldorado Polo Club.Quasar.

Coachella Ubers, Lyfts and shuttles

If you aren't able to drive to the festival, shuttle passes are still available here. The shuttle service will depart from local hotels and operate from 12:30pm to 8pm each day of Coachella, and return service from the festival will end 60 minutes after the music ends each night.

For more privacy and convenience, you can opt for a rideshare service, which will be located on Ave. 49 and Monroe St. All rideshare types will be operating from 9am to 3am.

Coachella parking

Coachella offers a variety of parking options, including free and preferred parking. If you and your friends are traveling together, consider participating in Carpoolchella, which allows you to decorate your vehicle and win prizes, such as VIP access for life. 

Free Parking

  • Open Friday to Sunday, 10am-2am.
  • Cars left after 2am will be towed.
  • Everyone in the vehicle must be wearing a Festival Wristband.
  • Parking is first come first 
  • No pick-ups or drop-offs (use Pick Up & Drop Off location)
  • Motorcycles may park in ADA lot.

Preferred Parking

  • Access the Preferred Parking Lot via Ave 49/Monroe St. Do not use Hjorth St.
  • Park and enter the Venue through the north entrance.
  • Purchase of sticker is required (valid Fri-Sun).
  • Open Friday to Sunday, 11am-2am.
  • No entry allowed after 10pm.
  • Cars left after 2am will be towed.
  • No vehicle ins & outs.
  • Everyone in the vehicle must be wearing a Festival Wristband.
  • No pick-ups or drop-offs (use Pick Up & Drop Off location).
  • Vehicles parked must fit with in the 8.5’ x 16’ spot.

Camping Companion Parking

  • One overnight parking space for an additional vehicle of campers.
  • Parking space valid Thursday through Monday. Limit one per order.
  • A very limited amount of Camping Companion Parking Passes are available. If you don’t get one, you’ll have to transport your whole crew and their camping gear in one vehicle.
  • Located adjacent to the campgrounds, but may not be near your campsite.
  • All vehicles will be thoroughly searched.
  • Everyone in the vehicle must be wearing Festival Wristband.
  • No camping or sleeping in your car.
  • Check-in Thursday 9am-2am; Friday to Sun 9am-8pm.
  • No ins/outs. No exit during lockdown hours Friday to Sun, 9pm-2am.
  • If you need to leave Camping Companion Parking prior to 2am on any night, you must do so before 9pm.
  • All hours are subject to change based on safety concerns and traffic conditions.
  • If you drive out, you will forfeit your spot.

Coachella camping

One of the best experiences of Coachella is camping on the festival's sun-kissed grounds. Campers have five different options, which range in price and comfort.

Car and Preferred Car Camping

The least expensive option is car camping, which offers 30' x 10' sites where you can park one vehicle and as many people as can fit in the designated area.

If you want to be located even closer to the venue and not have to rush to secure a good spot, you can choose to purchase preferred car camping, which is located in Lot 8. 

Tent Camping

If you don't have a vehicle, you can opt for tent camping, which offers a 15' x 10' campsite where you can accommodate as many friends and tents as you'd like (provided they fit).

Lake Eldorado 

Offering a separate check-in location, 24-hour concierge service, private upscale restrooms and exclusive parking facilities, Lake Eldorado provides concertgoers with a secluded, upscale atmosphere located just minutes away from the venue's entrance.

Safari Campgrounds

If you want a true luxury experience, the Sahari Campgrounds may be for you. Perks include golf cart transportation between stages, private parking adjacent to the campground, air-conditioned restrooms and showers, breakfast and late-night snacks, an air-conditioned lounge and more for an unparalleled festival experience. 

Coachella lockers

Lockers are a great way for you and your friends to avoid the worries associated with lugging your essentials around the vast grounds of the Empire Polo Club.

Lockers, which come in three versions, are accessible within the venue during operational hours from Friday through Sunday. It's essential to return the combination lock by 1am on Monday to retrieve your belongings; otherwise, the Coachella team will donate them.

Free Coachella livestream

Coachella is once again partnering with YouTube to steam both weekends of the festival. This year, Coachella is offering a new multi-view feature so you can watch four live performances at once while listening to the audio of your choice. 

In addition to the stream, you can buy custom festival and artist merchandise via YouTube Shopping. To complete a purchase, scan the QR code with your mobile device and open the YouTube app.
