Nero Discovered a Giant Stack of Forgotten CDs With Unreleased 2000’s Music In an Attic

Decluttering an attic usually leads to nothing more than cobwebs and withered Maxim posters, but Nero have stumbled upon a treasure trove—a forgotten archive of unreleased music.

The influential electronic music group recently unearthed a giant stack of CDs in an attic, they revealed in a post on X. The discs contain not only "loads" of unreleased music, but also the original WAV files of all the band's drum & bass tracks from 2004 to 2010. That period immediately precedes the release of "Promises," their biggest hit, which released in the summer of 2011.

It's a serendipitous discovery as Nero celebrate their 20th anniversary throughout 2024. They're currently rolling out Into The Unknown, their first full-length album in nearly a decade and the final chapter of a trilogy that began with 2011's seminal Welcome Reality.

Whether or not Nero intend to unleash this sonic time capsule remains to be seen. The band didn't immediately respond to's request for comment regarding their plans for the CDs.

In the meantime, all we can do is look forward to Into The Unknown, the release date of which has not yet been revealed at the time of writing. Check out Nero's post below.
