OAKK Weaves Sonic Stories of Nostalgia and Change Into Stunning EP, “Moving On”

Embodying a shadowy yet comforting nostalgia, OAKK's new EP, Moving On, showcases his atmospheric and brooding style in a journey through change and emotion.

The EP is a testament to OAKK's willingness to dive headfirst into his signature sound, wherein evocative synths, drums and lyrics melt together for an organic and poignant listening experience.

Striking a gossamer balance between sound and sensation, each track seems to resonate in a nostalgic way, setting the stage for a late night drive, warm embrace with a loved one or a walk through the city on a chilly evening. OAKK's music effortlessly captures a moment in time.

Balanced yet forward-thinking sound design collides with hip-hop and trap influences throughout the EP. OAKK begins with the titular "Moving On," which masterfully creates a moody yet soothing ambiance. He called the track "perfect for crying in the club" on social media.

OAKK's trademark tone continues in "True," which is featured on the EP in both regular and slowed-down versions. The song kicks off with harmonious chords before adding layers of psychedelic vocals, trap-inspired drums and thematic synths to strike a balance between light and dark. Each version highlights his ability to gracefully toy with the relationship between music and emotion. Next, "The Low" (with TF Marz) channels influences from trap and hip-hop through a fresh lens, delicately fusing various sonic elements to deliver a dreamy, warm and ecstatic cut.
