Proxy sets a bass house frenzy in motion on new EP, 'HIGH / EZY TING' [Stream]

Hot on the heels of Proxy‘s December 2019 EP, Collusion, comes HIGH / EZY TING. Proof that the producer is far from done with the electronic release ring and the bass house enthusiasts that it routinely attracts, the EP comprises two namesake cuts, “HIGH” and “EZY TING.”
Reverberating bass is part and parcel of the project, which exudes Proxy’s wonky approach to hybridization. This is particularly apparent on “EZY TING,” with its gravelly whirls of sound and siren samples. A growling, near-spoken vocal unifies both “HIGH” and “EZY TING” in a grit that roughs up the songs’ smoother house moments. Shrill, sharp synth work adds texture to “HIGH,” as Proxy deals yet another hand of heavy bass house heaters.
