Sensu’s Raw “Pieces” EP Is an Autopsy of Club Culture: Listen

Out now via London's Attack Decay Sweet Release label, the EP arrives in the midst of a breakout for the surging Swiss producer, whose music recently received spins on the acclaimed BBC Radio 1 shows of Pete Tong, Jaguar and Sarah Story.

Pieces is less an EP and more an autopsy of club culture, laying bare its beating heart and ragged lungs through four emotive dance bangers. A raw blend of jungle, breakbeat and 4x4, it's the sound of a rave eaten alive by its own hunger for catharsis.

Sensu flexes her versatility throughout, delivering a collection that lives in the tension between introspection and movement. "My Luv" is an undeniable standout, leaving listeners deliriously dancing on the graves of romance. A central lyrical grenade ricochets off walls of sweat-slicked synths: "Driving me crazy, I thought you were my love."

Another standout comes with the EP's final track, the jungle-inspired "Switch Up." Here, she produces claustrophobic drums underneath icy vox to close with a paradoxical beast that's somehow both frenzied and brooding.
