Skream smashes out a very special BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix
by Norman Gillis ·

UK dubstep pioneer Skream has taken hold of BBC Radio 1’s famed Essential Mix for one hell of a start to the year delivering a very special experience.
While he had indeed been a trailblazer of the heavier sound through the early 2000s, in recent times he’s moved into the worlds of house, disco, and techno with various originals, remixes, and some very memorable DJ sets.
Those expecting exclusively two hours of dubstep might be a little disappointed but that might change knowing the mix is built entirely out of Skream originals and remixes including a stack of unreleased gems including “HWFG” and an eerie remix of Barer’s “Never On Sunday”.
