Surf Mesa Ushers in a New Chapter With Ethereal House Track, “Manzanita”

Ahead of a series of Las Vegas performances, Surf Mesa has unveiled "Manzanita."

Kicking off with a soft, echoing vocal chant and subtle synths, he quickly encapsulates a dreamlike state. Before long, we're welcomed back to consciousness by virtue of the track's ethereal soundscape, which resembles a dream coming to life. The drop then ensures a surrender to the moment as Mesa curates an entrancing and atmospheric ambiance.

Mesa wrote "Manzanita" with Norwegian singer-songwriter Elsa Søllesvik and Zurich-based producer Benji Alasu, and later recorded it in Los Angeles. Released via Astralwerks, the new track follows "City of Love" and an official remix of ILLENIUM’s "With All My Heart."

“’Manzanita’ is a track I’ve kept exclusively for the dance floor for a while,” Mesa said in a statement shared with EDM.com. “The texture and atmosphere this song makes me envision a rainforest in the future. It resonates with me so much as I begin my next chapter of music! I’ve been playing this one live for about a year and I’m so glad to finally release it.”

In addition to the release of the new song, Mesa will be performing at Encore Beach Club today as part of his summer residency. And tomorrow he'll throw down in support of Marshmello on two of the masked superstar's Vegas dates, June 24th at XS and July 15th at EBC, respectively.
