Last Thursday (21 July), The Prodigy took to O2 Academy Brixton for the first of three sold out nights, and the spirit of Keith Flint fueled their performances, where they paid tribute to him. “He’s still fucking with us right now. He’s still here! Mr. Flint fucking lives on in here!”
From Thursday 21 July until Saturday 23 July, The Prodigy rounded out their UK summer tour (beginning on 8 July, where every single stop on the tour was sold out) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘The Fat Of The Land‘, with three nights at the iconic O2 Academy Brixton venue, and they made sure that frontman Keith Flint, who sadly passed away in 2019 at the age of 49, was with them through it all.
Upon announcing the tour back in March, Maxim and Liam Howlett took to Instagram to state “THIS ONE’S FOR FLINTY“, dedicating the entire tour to him and also paying tribute every single night of the tour in a statement captured by fan’s footage in London, posted to YouTube by an account called Fed. Performing one of the band’s biggest and most beloved hits ‘Firestarter’, it went into the brand new remix of the track by Andy C, where Maxim then passionately stated:
“He’s still fucking with us right now. He’s still here! Mr. Flint fucking lives on in here!”
With the tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of ‘The Fat Of The Land’, XL Recordings will release a special, limited edition 2LP silver 12” vinyl package of the original album with a reimagined version of the iconic crab artwork, also featuring the aforementioned Andy C remix of ‘Firestarter’. You can check out more information and multiple different places to order it from here.
