Tiësto has released his newest single with the song ‘Baila Conmigo.’ The producer and DJ has been no stranger to exploring new sounds and genres as he refuses to stay stagnant while continuing to add to his already incredible legacy and status within dance music.
While Tiësto began his ascendancy to a mainstage mainstay as a trance producer, it has been many years since he has let the concepts of genre define what music he will create and release. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Tiësto discussed finding a new sound and will be more of a house focused production.
The release of ‘Baila Conmigo’ certainly demonstrates the Dutch producer’s versatility and desire to expand his sound. Opening with a subtle female vocal before a prominent horn comes in, the track builds with an increasing percussion section, until it opens up at the 30 second mark with a four to the floor hard hitting kick, heavy bass and infectious synth lead that gives way to the horn again halfway through. Listeners are given a minor reprieve from the energy about halfway through, as he filters out much of the track, bringing back the Spanish vocal line and the opening horn lead, maintaining a steady flow without fully erupting again until the second drop hits.
While the Dutch DJ continues to evolve and keep fans guessing at what he will create next, ‘Baila Conmigo’ is certainly a fun listen, built for his global fan base and should offer him the ability to further connect with different audiences. For those who struggle to keep with the vast exploration of sounds from Tiësto, he hasn’t forgotten his roots as he recently surprised fans with a full segment of trance during his recent Tomorrowland performance. What will come next for Tiesto, the world will have to wait and see but it will no doubt not be what anyone expects.
