Tokyo Machine taps Guy Arthur for electro house number, 'GET UP'
Following a continuous stream of impressive releases, Tokyo Machine is back once again with his newest electro house masterpiece “GET UP” with Guy Arthur. Tokyo Machine has not slowed down since the beginning of the new year, with “GET UP” marking his fifth single of 2020, in addition to the massive remix album for his hit song featured in Rocket League, “PLAY.”
“GET UP” is the perfect combination of heavy and melodic, highlighting both producers’ diverse capabilities. The new electro house number opens with an infectious video game inspired 8-bit melody, followed closely by a tense buildup topped with energy-infused vocals. The pre-drop vocal gives a humorous nod to the single’s adorable duck cover art, with a loud quack censoring an f-bomb. The first part of the drop features the bouncy bass-heavy sound design and electro house flow fans of Tokyo Machine have come to know and love, while the second part lends itself more to trap, with a massive 808 pattern coming in underneath a short vocal verse. “GET UP” is a welcome hit from Tokyo Machine and Guy Arthur.
