Legendary UK label Defected Records have delighted ravers with the re-launch of their special edition ‘Originals’ merchandise collection. Celebrating the birth of the label – more than two full-decades ago – the collection takes things back to a truly retro-feel, displaying the original logo used by Defected upon inception. Since then, the imprint – founded by legendary industry figurehead Simon Dunmore – has taken a no-nonsense attitude towards high-quality gimmick-free house music, and has truly stood the test of time. This is largely thanks to an irrepressible list of releases in their back-catalogue, such as commercial crossover hits ‘Cola’ by CamelPhat, or Endor‘s ‘Pump It Up‘, but also thanks to a unique and on-the-pulse approach to current fashion trends and viral patterns across social media.
Previously launching the originals collection with a range of hoodies, and sweat pants, the new launch will now see accompanying t-shirts sold via the online store, with the same green/yellow, navy/white, and grey/black colour schemes on offer which were originally available as hoodies etc. Made via thick high-quality material, the merch drop also includes special bundles, where fans can pick up a full collection for between £70-£100, choosing their own sweatshirt, tee, and shorts. Lending a firm nod to the 00’s, the Defected Originals range features the classic ‘D‘ and ‘DEFECTED‘ logos, and is most definitely a must-have purchase for all those comfy working-at-home days during this cold winter and current lockdown. You can view an example of the products on offer below, and be sure to grab yours here right now before they’re all sold out! You can also check out the special We Rave You digital magazine feature – titled ‘In Our House We Are All Equal‘ – in partnership with the label, where we spoke to Wez Saunders, (the Managing Director of Defected), Adrienne Bookbinder, (the label’s A&R Manager), and Sam Divine, an international superstar DJ and producer, and host of the famous ‘Defected in the House’ radio show.
