Fatboy Slim is working on a new documentary to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his famous Big Beach Boutique party.
Fatboy Slim documentary was announced on Rebecca Judd‘s Apple Music 1 show last week. The producer, who’s real name is Norman Cook there talked about the party, how he “has revisited the party in his brain quite a few times” and how his life and the music industry itself has changed over the past 20 years.
During the interview, Fatboy Slim remembers the event which saw more than 250 000 ravers. Being twice the size of Brighton’s population gathered for a free event, it was described as the “biggest event the UK has ever seen”.
“It kind of was like a Woodstock moment,” said Cook looking back on the Big Beach Boutique and reassessing it 20 later for the documentary. “I think we made history.”
With the 20th anniversary of Big Beach Boutique, he also announced a Big Beach Boutique deluxe box set, called “Right Here, Right Then“, which consists of a brand new Fatboy Slim DJ mix, a DVD of the original concert, a 48-page book with exclusive photos and a foreword penned by Cook.
There are no further details about the documentary yet, but there is for sure something to look back on Big Beach Boutique.
