Charlotte de Witte Launches Custom Soy Sauce Brand
The techno superstar says the new soy sauce was inspired by her Belgian heritage and the country's quintessential beer culture.
They're soymates.
Apparently Charlotte de Witte's recent huge EP wasn't the only special sauce she's been cooking up. In a mashup of culinary arts and electronic music no one saw coming, the trailblazing techno superstar has revealed the launch of Tears of Soy, a custom soy sauce product.
de Witte, who joked she has a "slight addiction for soy sauce," says the hop-based product was inspired by her Belgian heritage and the country's quintessential beer culture. She teamed up with Rotterdam-based Tomasu, the only company in Europe who manufactures micro-brewed soy sauce, to develop Tears of Soy.
The unique collaboration started with a short email in 2020, according to Tomasu, who says de Witte is "genuinely crazy about soy sauce." Three years and many soy fermentations later, they've now finally made the sauce available to consumers.
"I would have never dreamed of a collaboration like this which is so out of the box, but makes so much sense at the same time," de Witte wrote on social media.
Tears of Soy is a limited edition capsule collection and one bottle costs €25.00. You can find out more and purchase the product here.
