Listen to Four Tet’s Adventurous Eight-Minute Soundscape, “Three Drums”
The lush track comes just days after Four Tet teased a new album and headlined the final night of Coachella 2023 with Fred again.. and Skrillex.
All eyes are on Four Tet.
After taking part in one of the most talked-about electronic music performances in recent memory, the influential producer has returned with a new eight-minute track, "Three Drums."
The track kicks off with some isolated percussion as tinctures of synths begin to blossom in Four Tet's sonic meadow. As we venture deeper into its lush arrangement, he introduces stringed instruments, echoing vox and elements of biomusic as the soundscape expands.
"Three Drums" is an invigorating yet chilled-out release that leans into the indietronica realm with plenty of organic production that feels like it draws upon all the eras of his decades-long career.
Four Tet's new track comes just days after he replaced Frank Ocean and headlined the final night of Coachella 2023 alongside Fred again.. and Skrillex. Just under a week before that, he revealed that he's begun working on his 12th album. At the time of writing, it's unclear if "Three Drums" will appear on the upcoming album.
"Three Drums" is out now and you can purchase the eight-minute song on Bandcamp here.
