Michael Canitrot to Stream Unprecedented DJ Set Atop Eiffel Tower
In a historic collaboration to mark the centenary of Gustave Eiffel's passing, French DJ and producer Michael Canitrot is performing atop the Eiffel Tower.
The groundbreaking performance will be livestreamed on social media and broadcast on French television December 27th, when France’s most iconic landmark will transform into a preternatural rave setting.
Canitrot tells us he's curating a 50-minute melodic techno and progressive house DJ set, notably showcasing his latest track "CHANGE," a collaboration with house music icon Roland Clark. The unprecedented performance follows a series of sold-out shows on his "Monumental Tour," including remarkable sets in front of thousands at locations like Place Stanislas in Nancy, France and the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, Italy.
Celebrated for its visual extravagance, the "Monumental Tour" has graced notable heritage sites such as the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey and the Palais Royal, garnering acclaim from institutions like the Institut de France and the French National Commission for UNESCO.
The upcoming event will project a stunning lighting display on the Eiffel Tower and showcase performances by guest artists, including the "Spectre" choir, mezzo-soprano singer Yana Mann, contemporary dancer Abblaye Diop and pianist Yann Dulché. Award-winning French actor Philippe Torreton will also lend his voice to guide the audience through the immersive experience in remembrance of Gustave Eiffel.
The broadcast of "Monumental Tour celebrates Eiffel" is scheduled for December 27th, 2023, at 9pm CET as a premiere on Canitrot's and the Eiffel Tower's YouTube and Facebook pages, followed by its television airing on the French TV channel CSTAR at 10:50pm. The performance will later be available online for replay.
