Listen to Chris Lake and Disclosure’s Down-and-Dirty House Track, “in2minds”

At this stage in their illustrious careers, it's clear that Chris Lake and Disclosure intend more on shredding the envelope of house music than pushing it.

That's more perceivable than ever after today's release of their new collaboration, "in2minds," out now via Astrawerks and Lake's Black Book Records. It's house music stripped to its naked core, then rebuilt with a dark, postmodern edge that cuts through the noise of its formulaic counterparts in the genre.

As the track unfolds, it reveals layers of gritty textures and brooding, hypnotic rhythms. Disclosure and Lake produce distorted subs and a thick, viscous bassline that oozes through the mix like tar, engulfing everything in its path.

"This was a fun and natural collaboration for me," Lake said in a press release. "We made 'in2minds' the first day we got in the studio together. Disclosure and I are both pretty technical and with this song it feels like we kind of flexed on each other a little bit. The result is the collaboration of two minds."

Fans of these influential house music producers can look forward to more collaborations in the future after they shared a preview of another new song earlier in the month of September. Disclosure's Guy Lawrence also said today's release is "just the first of a few bits we have cooking."
