Alesso to DJ at LA Galaxy’s 2024 Home Opener
The LA Galaxy have scouted and signed their latest superstar, but he doesn't wear cleats and you won't see him on the pitch breaking hearts with red cards.
The MLS club today announced that Swedish electronic music superstar Alesso will perform during their 2024 regular season home opener against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami CF this Sunday, February 25th.
It's a big moment for the Galaxy as the team aims to "revolutionize" its game-day experience for MLS fans, according to Chief Creative and Brand Officer Will Misselbrook.
"The blend of top-tier soccer and Alesso’s musical talents will offer an immersive experience that elevates the energy for our fans and transforms the stadium ambiance," Misselbrook said in a press release. "This signifies a new era in our approach to entertainment—a celebration of both sports and music that goes beyond the expected."
"As a massive football enthusiast, I’m looking forward to being a part of the growing history of MLS' all-time moments by performing at the LA Galaxy’s 2024 Home Opener against Inter Miami CF," Alesso added.
Alesso's performance will set the stage for the match, which is said to be one of the biggest in the entire MLS season. The home opener marks the return of Inter Miami CF owner David Beckham, a Galaxy legend who led the club to a MLS Cup victory in 2011. His stint with the team was recently chronicled in Netflix's acclaimed Beckham docuseries.
Inter Miami CF's Messi, one of the greatest footballers of all-time, is set for his first-ever appearance at Dignity Health Sports Park. The match also marks the first-ever meeting between the two teams at Dignity Health Sports Park and the second all-time matchup in league play after the Galaxy's nail-biting, come-from-behind win by a score of 3-2 in April 2021.
MLS fans can catch the game, as well as Alesso's performance, on February 25th via the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
