Alok has just dropped the sixth installment of his beloved ‘CONTROVERSIA by Alok’ compilation.
A total of 13 tracks, 8 of which are exclusive, showcase the very best talent that CONTROVERSIA has to offer right now. As a label, they have also just recently surpassed over 1 billion streams on Spotify, which is yet another massive scalp for Alok.
Some of the notable talents which Alok has featured on the compilation include CONTROVERSIA mainstay Bhaskar, who you may remember from his Alok collaborations ‘Fuego’ and ‘Born To Kill’, Capsm, a DJ from Brazil who is visually impaired, and Nyella, the first female producer to release a solo single on the label.
“The arrival of the 6th edition of the compilation and following the recognition that previous instalments have received is a huge joy to me. The concept continues to meet our main objective, which is to maximize the reach and recognition of the Brazilian electronic music scene here in Brazil as well as abroad, giving space to a vast number of artists to create and present their music to wider audiences. With a lot of effort, today, Controversia’s releases are being presented weekly to millions of listeners around the world through the Controversia Radio Show, which was also recently featured as a label showcase on Tomorrowland’s One World Radio. I had a great time plowing through the tons of demo submissions to pick the tracks and artists I currently like the most, so I hope you’ll enjoy the selection, which includes 8 exclusive productions you can hear only on the compilation.” – Alok
Alok has gone from strength to strength in 2022, releasing collaborations together with the likes of Luis Fonsi, Au/Ra, Alan Walker, and Bastille. He currently has the second-largest following on Instagram for any electronic artist with over 27 million followers, he is the most streamed artist from Brazil right now (with over 18.5 million monthly listeners), and he’s also ranked at number 4 on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll.
