Amba Shepherd’s “Wild Hearts” Is an Electro Anthem for the Untamed: Listen
With her new single "Wild Hearts," Amba Shepherd doesn't just challenges boundaries—she sets them ablaze and dances in the inferno.
EDM enthusiasts will recognize Shepherd as the stentorian voice behind Hardwell's 2012 generational dance anthem "Apollo" as well as major collaborations with Porter Robinson, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack and many other electronic music icons.
She goes solo, however, in "Wild Hearts," a house anthem for the feral spirits lurking within polite society. Through a four-on-the-floor beat crackling with energy, she dares you to go on a midnight car chase with your own demons: "Into the wild we go," she declares.
And suddenly you're there, tasting freedom on your tongue. A whiplash of raw emotion, Shepherd's voice then carves a luminous path through an electro-tinged drop with synths that slice like razors, leaving behind a trail of shattered expectations. "Wild hearts can't be broken," she belts out with gold-painted middle fingers.
