ARTBAT are linking up with Shall Ocin and braev on new single ‘Origin‘, connecting to what is happening in their native Ukraine.
Reaching nearly a year since ARTBAT announced their UPPERGROUND imprint, they are now on the label’s 5th release which comes as an important and emotional one for them. Not only displaying their immense talents, they have brought in two equally talented artists for this one. Shall Ocin is a renowned Argentinean artist who has performed with the duo at their second UPPERGROUND event at Sonar. On the other hand, Italian-Canadian multi instrumentalist and vocalist braev had the honour of being alongside them for the label’s first ever event in Tulum this past New Year. Together, this collective of artists have conjured up an emotional yet inspiring and powerful piece of melodic techno.
Starting off dark with pulsating and punchy synths, this momentum bubbles and grows until braev’s unique and striking vocals come in to take the track to entirely new heights, charged with a powerful aura that will leave listeners hanging onto every word. Asking the important question of ‘Where do we belong?’ with its inquisitive hook, it will have listeners thinking deeply, taking in the track’s important message. As is with every ARTBAT production, their signature piano notes are out in full force, adding that special dramatic touch with the effect of Shall Ocin’s skills. Ambient yet full of energy, it is not only another fantastic record for all artists involved but one that is important, demanding to be heard loudly. With the track being titled ‘Origin’, it also causes fans to reflect on what is still ongoing in Ukraine, with ARTBAT using their platform to bring this to the forefront even further through their thought-provoking soundscapes.
An important release that has once again knocked it out of the park, ARTBAT, Shall Ocin and braev are not holding back on the emotion with this one, and you can now listen to it below.
