Electric Zoo Cancels First Day of 2023 Festival
The organizers of Electric Zoo have cancelled the first day of their 2023 festival.
The announcement arrived just hours before the festival's doors were scheduled to open. Electric Zoo's organizers cited supply chain issues, which they say hindered their ability to construct the festival's main stage on time.
"Sharing this tough news is honestly heartbreaking," reads a statement shared on the festival's social media. "We feel the weight of the disappointment and frustration, and we’re so sorry to let our Electric Zoo family down."
Artists scheduled to perform today included The Chainsmokers, Adventure Club, Kx5 (Kaskade and deadmau5), Excision and EDM.com Class of 2022 star ACRAZE, among many others.
"It is with a broken heart that we deeply regret to inform you that, despite our tireless efforts and round-the-clock commitment, we have made the painful decision to cancel the first day of Electric Zoo," organizers added. "This year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. The global supply chain disruptions have impacted industries worldwide, and, sadly, our beloved festival has not been immune. These unexpected delays have prevented us from completing the construction of the main stage in time for Day 1."
Electric Zoo 2023 is set to continue on Saturday and Sunday as scheduled. Organizers will be providing a full refund for holders of the festival's Friday ticket. Those with multiple-day tickets will receive credit for one of Electric Zoo's days.
