Flume And Emma Louise Announce Collaborative Album–Share Shimmering Single “Easy Goodbye”

Flume and Emma Louise may have titled it DUMB, but their next collaborative chapter sounds anything but.

The Grammy-winning producer is returning August 22nd with DUMB, a full-length project alongside Australian singer-songwriter Emma Louise. The project marks Flume’s first long-form release since his 2023 mixtape, Things Don't Always Go the Way You Plan.

The announcement arrives with the project’s lead single, “Easy Goodbye,” a shimmering detour through emotional wreckage. The track fuses his signature glitch-and-surge production with Louise’s breathy, delicate vocals. It’s a parting song in every sense, with warbling synths and fractured textures swirling around melancholic lyrics.

Flume and Louise previously teamed up for "Hollow" on Palaces, but this time it’s more personal. As Billboard notes, Louise, who grew up undiagnosed as neurodivergent, refers to DUMB as an act of reclamation. "At first, naming the album DUMB felt irreverent and freeing, but later I realized how deeply it connected to my own fear of being seen as stupid and unworthy," she said. “This album is me reclaiming that word, letting go of shame, and promising myself I’ll never abandon my voice again."

You can listen to "Easy Goodbye" ahead of the full album release on streaming services here before the album is released on August 22nd, 2025.
