GORDO and Seeds of Learning Open New School In Nuevo Eden, Guatemala
GORDO dedicated the school to the family he grew up with in Guatemala and his experiences there before relocating to the U.S.
Today marks the first day of school at Edificio Taraka, the result of GORDO’s latest charitable endeavor, which the DJ says is a dream come true.
Serving Guatemalan youth with limited educational opportunities, the brand new school Nuevo Eden was created through the charitable efforts of GORDO and the non-profit organization Seeds of Learning.
GORDO says Edificio Taraka was developed in honor of the family he grew up with in Guatemala before relocating to the U.S.
“My childhood in Guatemala shaped who I am today and I am honored to give back to the generation of tomorrow in my home country, GORDO said in a press release. “I dedicate this school to my aunt, my uncle and my late cousin Catherine who I grew up with in Guatemala.”
He also shared that education has always been paramount to him and his family. In fact, his “second mother” helped many children access education by driving them to and from school. He added that the support of his family helped him become who he is today.
