Haywyre Returns With Brooding Single, “White Lie”

After a two-year hiatus, Haywyre is back.

This time around, the Grammy-nominated producer has returned to Monstercat for "White Lie," a step in a new direction. The moody, warm tone of Haywyre's vocals and lyrics add an enchanting layer of depth atop his distinctive production.

It's a huge change from what longtime fans are accustomed to, but a welcomed one nonetheless. And the release forges a new creative frontier for Haywyre, whose last original release came in 2021.

"I'm proud to finally get my first track in two years into the world," he said in a statement. "Especially one like 'White Lie,' which I feel really shows a glimpse into where the Haywyre project is going."

The virtuosic Haywyre has been revered as one of electronic music's most gifted sound designers for over a decade. From 2010's debut album Of Mellows and Revelations to 2020's Grammy-nominated remix of Bazzi's "Young & Alive," his sound has evolved immensely over time. Groovy basslines and euphoric synths have been cornerstones of his style, and his latest work seems to be expanding on those foundational sounds.
