Icona Pop & Ultra Naté join forces for new single ‘You’re Free’: Listen

Icona Pop have taken Ultra Naté‘s 1997 classic hit ‘Free’ and created a modern-day rework, titled ‘You’re Free’.

25 years on since its initial release, Icona Pop have given the track the remake which it rightfully deserves. The euphoric breakdowns, its driving bass line and striking vocals allow the original to thrive once again. ‘Free’, which achieved platinum status, topped the Dance charts in the United States and peaked at #4 on the UK’s Singles chart. ‘You’re Free’ follows ‘Payback’, Icona Pop’s recent collaboration with the iconic trio Cheat Codes; it’s already surpassed a monumental 5 million streams on Spotify.

“We’ve always loved Ultra Naté’s original ‘Free’ and used to play it in the clubs as DJs in Stockholm, even before we started Icona Pop! It is the ultimate expression of what we want Icona Pop to represent: freedom to be whoever you want to be, live life to the fullest, and have fun.
